Here at Jalopnik, we like cars that used to be cars but are now trucks. The New-Zealanders are calling them Utes, the people of Northern America are calling them with a variety of funny Mexican names and the people of Europe are are calling them pickup because they have no idea what a real pickup is.

Was this a real thing? im familiar with the 2wd normal caddy rabbit truck and the later golf country lifted 4x4 model but this hybrid I have never seen before

Generally anything with an open but sided and tailgated load bed is referred to as a pickup or a crew cab (though a crew cab can also have a fully enclosed load area similar to a van but one half is divided for load area and the other for two rows of seating).
